Pantry organized!

We had another weekend full of wet whether so I decided to tackle one of the many things on my to do list. This list is getting longer and longer but it feels good to start crossing things off and I've been putting this job off for way to long now.......

I didn't really have assigned places for things in my pantry it all sort of just got plonked in when our kitchen was finished, I've shuffled a few things around every now and then but it wasn't really organised enough for my liking and the top shelf basically had nothing on it so lots of wasted space!

Lets get organized!!

I love using pantry containers for a few reasons....It looks neat, you can get the stackable containers so you can stack and maximize space in your pantry. The main things I put in containers are pasta, rice, flour, nuts and because you can see inside when you get low on that item you know to add it to your grocery list. I write on them with a Sharpe with contents and expiry date and it washed off with a kitchen sponge.

I founds these cute little chalkboard cut out labels which I've just brought which will look great and save me scrubbing the marker off.

Ok next is placement!!
Really its a no brainer..... The most used items at eye level or on a easy to reach shelf. Convenient placement for items your kids can grab without needing help from you or visa versa (lollies and "sometimes foods" up higher)

I found lots of my spices in the pantry so I returned them back to the spice draw and I ended up cleaning this out also!! And threw a lot of expired ones out!!!

All finished..

Up on my highest shelf I have ice cream cones, lollies and cake decorating items like icing, food colouring etc

Next shelf down is all the flours, oats, rice etc

Middle shelf I have vitamins, gravy powder, stock and nuts and a few other things.

Next down are the cans, sauces and marinades and spreads.

On lowest shelf are the breakfast cereals, bread, rice crackers and spaghetti.... because it's the only shelf that the tall container fit in :)

I love these pantry shelves! Great for cans and makes it easier to grab 1 thing out with out other cans falling over.

I also like these stackable crome baskets! I don't stack them because of the space but they are great for holding the kids snacks and potatoes.

In the lower part of the pantry I store kids snacks easy for them to grab without help from me or dragging a chair over to stand on.
I also store my mixer in here and rice cooker because I use them often and they are easily accessible here.

All done! 1 job down a thousand more to do!!!
